Dave Montizambert

Dave Montizambert is an internationally acclaimed photographer, lighting educator and author from British Columbia, Canada, specialising in photographic lighting, digital photography and Adobe Photoshop.

Dave has spent more than 30 years creating commercial and advertising photography for major clients including McDonald’s, Motorola, Warner Bros., Tri-Star Pictures, Chevron and Canada Post. His work has received numerous awards, including Georgie, Lotus, Hemlock, CAPIC and Graphex awards.

A passionate educator, Dave lectures and teaches workshops internationally and has written extensively for photography magazines around the world, including Professional Imagemaker. He is the author of Creative Lighting Techniques for Studio Photographers and Professional Digital Photography, and has produced numerous photography and lighting tutorials.

Dave’s approach is centred on the creative use of light, which he describes as “sculpting” his subjects with light before recording the result with a camera. His aim is to help photographers understand the principles behind lighting rather than simply follow recipes.
