Tamron 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD Now Available for Nikon Z
Tamron has announced the availability of its compact 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD zoom lens for Nikon Z-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras.
Designed to offer a versatile focal range in a compact package, the 20-40mm F/2.8 covers everything from ultra-wide 20mm views through to a useful 40mm focal length. It is suited to a wide range of photography, including landscapes, architecture, travel, everyday photography and portraits.
The lens features a constant F/2.8 maximum aperture, making it useful in lower-light conditions while also providing greater control over depth of field.
At 20mm, the lens offers a minimum focusing distance of just 17cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8. This allows photographers to get close to subjects such as flowers and insects while retaining plenty of the surrounding environment, creating a distinctive wide-angle close-up perspective.
Designed for photography and video
Autofocus is handled by Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism. The system is designed to provide fast, precise and quiet focusing for both still photography and video.
The compact dimensions also make the lens suitable for video applications, including vlogging. At 20mm, photographers and content creators can include more of their surroundings when shooting handheld.
The lens is also compatible with Tamron Lens Utility and features a 67mm filter size. It incorporates moisture-resistant construction and a dirt-repellent fluorine coating on the front element.
