Vanguard introduces the most versatile 3-way pan-head on the market

As the video capability on mirrorless and DSLR cameras improves, Vanguard has recognised that more and more photographers are now using their camera for shooting video, as well as stills. Traditional solutions include single handle 2-way heads that provide the ability to shoot video (but limit the flexibility when shooting stills) or 3-way heads that provide a flexible solution for shooting stills (but limit the ability on video with the second handle).

To address this, Vanguard has designed a new patent pending system for the 3-way pan-head that allows the second handle (tilt handle) to be moved to four 90° settings around the horizontal with the simple press of a button. This allows the two handles to be placed alongside each other for two handed control while in video mode, or simply to make sure the second handle doesn’t get in the way

Alternatively the new head can be set up for a left-handed photographer to use the 3-way pan-head as it’s designed to be used, or into the position that is right for the shot in front of the photographer. The new heads also include a telescopic pan-handle and an Arca Swiss quick release system.

The head is made of lightweight aluminum alloy and come in two sizes:

VEO 2 PH-36 (RRP £60) – Designed for smaller/travel tripods, this head weighs 475g with a maximum load capacity of 3kg and a 42mm base diameter
VEO 2 PH-38 (RRP £80) – Designed for more traditional tripods, this head weighs 620g with a maximum load capacity of 6kg and a 58mm base diameter

With convenience being a key driver for many photographers, Vanguard have also partnered these heads with feature packed aluminium and carbon fibre tripods to create great value for photographers. Available on 20mm, 23mm and 26mm legs, all the models fold down to under 60cm, include 3 easy-set legs angles (20°, 45° and 80°), include a low-angle adaptor, a reversible central column, removable spiked feet for maximum stability on any surface and a hook under central column to hang weight for additional stability in the field.
