Photography has a new home in London: Fujifilm announce development of experiential concept centre in Covent Garden

Fujifilm experience

Fujifilm has announced that they will open a new concept experience centre in the heart of Covent Garden, London. Spread over three floors, this new centre – a world’s first for the company – will celebrate and showcase all aspects of Fujifilm’s innovative photography and imaging brands, from picture taking to picture making.

Founded in 1934, photography is at the heart of Fujifilm’s heritage. The brand is renowned globally for its innovative X-Series, GFX and its iconic range of instax cameras and printers, as well as its award-winning ‘Wonder Photo Shop’ stores and photo printing services.

Opening in Winter 2019, the new centre will be a permanent addition to Covent Garden, with the aim to inspire and encourage visitors to get creative and immerse themselves in the world of photography and experience all Fujifilm has to offer by integrating “touch and try” experiences with cameras, lenses and printers, to exploring the best ways to print photos on a wide range of materials using Fujifilm’s market leading software.

Zones in the new centre will feature the following experiences, with more to be confirmed in coming months:

  • Instax instant cameras and printers experience zone
  • GFX specialist area
  • X-Series spotlight
  • Wonder Photo Shop with photo printing and photo gifting inspiration

Fujifilm is passionate about the preservation of people’s memories and are committed to more than just keeping the spirit and culture of photography alive – we want it to thrive. This new experience centre, a Fujifilm first, will help us do just that, and I am proud that Fujifilm and photography will have a new home in London’s premier shopping, entertainment and cultural destination.”

Yoshitaka Nakamura, Managing Director, FUJIFILM UK

From rewriting the rulebook on larger format cameras with the GFX100, to launching the smallest and most innovative instax instant camera to date– an incredibly exciting year for Fujifilm has just got even bigger. We have proven over decades that we are at the forefront of photographic technology, constantly evolving and innovating. Alongside this, our developments in paper and ink technology mean that we are unique in our abilities to bring images to life. Our new centre will put the customer at the heart of the experience as a place for everyone to completely immerse themselves in the world of photography, from picture taking to picture making.”
