Sigma announces redesigned range of filters for interchangeable lenses

Sigma has announced a completely redesigned range of filters for interchangeable lenses, introducing four updated models with improved construction, a new exterior design and compatibility across Sigma’s lens lineup.
The new range comprises the Sigma WR Ceramic Protector PTC-21, WR Protector + UV PUV-21, Protector LPT-21 and WR Circular PL Filter CPL-21. All four models are scheduled to launch on 30 September 2026.
Sigma says the new filters have been redesigned from the ground up with the aim of further reducing their impact on image quality while improving usability. Updated surface treatment on the filter frames helps reduce internal reflections, while a slimmer construction has been developed for the larger 95mm and 105mm filter sizes.
The WR Ceramic Protector PTC-21 is designed to provide a high level of impact resistance, while the WR Protector + UV PUV-21 combines UV protection with water- and oil-repellent properties. The standard Protector LPT-21 provides straightforward lens protection, while the WR Circular PL Filter CPL-21 is a circular polarising filter featuring water- and oil-repellent coating.
The redesigned filters also adopt an exterior appearance and packaging based on Sigma’s new visual identity, introduced in 2025.
Sigma has verified compatibility across its entire lens range, including ultra-wide-angle lenses, with the company stating that the filters are designed to avoid vignetting. Despite their slimmer profiles, they also retain secure lens cap attachment.
The WR Ceramic Protector PTC-21 will be available in 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, 82mm, 95mm and 105mm sizes. The WR Protector + UV PUV-21, Protector LPT-21 and WR Circular PL Filter CPL-21 will be available in 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, 82mm, 95mm and 105mm sizes.
The four new filter models will be available from 30 September 2026.
