OM SYSTEM introduces new PEN mirrorless camera

OM SYSTEM has announced the new OM SYSTEM PEN, a compact Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera that brings an electronic viewfinder and weather resistance to the company’s popular PEN series for the first time.
Designed for photographers looking for a lightweight camera that can be carried anywhere, the new PEN combines the familiar compact PEN styling with a range of features aimed at everyday photography, travel and creative shooting.
A key addition is the electronic viewfinder (EVF), giving photographers a more traditional shooting experience while retaining the PEN’s compact form. The camera also becomes the first model in the PEN series to feature dust- and splash-resistant construction, making it better suited to shooting outdoors in changeable conditions.
The camera uses a 20.4-megapixel Live MOS sensor and features five-axis in-body image stabilisation, helping photographers capture sharp images when shooting handheld. OM SYSTEM’s autofocus system includes subject-detection capabilities, while the camera also offers a range of computational photography features designed to expand creative possibilities.
The new PEN is being introduced alongside the M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 III standard zoom lens. The compact lens is also dust- and splash-resistant and has been designed to offer close-focusing capability while maintaining a small and lightweight form. OM SYSTEM has listed the lens as a new product in its 14-42mm range.
The OM SYSTEM PEN will be available in silver and black, with body-only, 14-42mm lens kit and double-zoom kit options being offered. OM SYSTEM’s product information currently lists the camera for release in late October 2026.
The launch marks a significant update for the PEN line, combining its traditionally compact, portable design with features such as an electronic viewfinder and weather resistance that broaden its appeal to photographers who want a small interchangeable-lens camera without sacrificing versatility.
