On the Road Photographic Competition Winners Announced

The Society of International Travel and Tourism Photographers have announced the winners of the On the Road Photography Competition.
For this month’s competition, we were looking for images that depict your travels; from the site and scenes that you come across on the road. It may be a person, a place, a structure or anything that portrays travel through your camera lens.
Jonathan Millard from Bristol was awarded the winner with his image entitled ”Eurotunnel” from over 400 entries.
Jonathan explains a bit about the image
“My photo was taken en route to a skiing holiday this year to the French Alps with friends and our 10 month old daughter. We decided to drive from Bristol, which meant my first ride on the Eurotunnel. Luckily there was quite a bit of room behind the last car in our carriage, and so I thought putting the camera on the ground with a fairly wide angle would make for an interesting perspective. It was one of many holiday photos.”
Jonathan has won 12 months membership to The Society of International Travel and Tourism Photographers SITTP.
Phil Jones, The Societies CEO says,
“This effect image caught the judges eye with it’s leading lines and the low camera angle gave greater feeling of connectivity to the road’ which fitted nicely with the theme of the competition. The competition had a very high standard which made judging very difficult, the range of entries was very broad and we have seen everything from the street scenes to classic camper vans.”
2nd place was Jim Shepka from New Hampshire, USA and 3rd place were Chris Upton from Nottinghamshire, England were both been awarded 6 months membership to the SITTP photographic organisation.
