It’ll be here in a flash – big brand exhibitors confirm support for The Photography Show and The Video Show 2020

The Photography Show and The Video Show 2020

The UK’s largest photography and moving image event is an absolute must on the calendar for those in the industry and it is set to take over Birmingham’s NEC, once again, in less than five months. With heavyweight brands including Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony, Fujifilm and Olympus already confirmed to exhibit, The Photography Show and The Video Show – which debuted last year – are set to wow visitors with the newest photography kit, cutting-edge video production equipment, latest industry trends and a line-up of high profile speakers, educators and experts.

Last year, more than 32,000 professionals and enthusiasts attended and the event is fast becoming the biggest and best in the industry. This year, the co-located shows will open their doors from 14-17 March 2020, with a stellar line-up of stages, theatres and masterclass sessions soon to be revealed.

Good news for photographers as the biggest names return

Photography is more popular than ever with the hashtag #photography having been used a mammoth 482 million times to date. The Photography Show continues to thrive, with last year’s attendance reaching 32,000+ for the second time in its history, demonstrating that enthusiasts and professionals continue to see the event as a fantastic place to source the best kit and hone their skills.

So, despite pressure on the industry from the rise of camera phones, organisers are pleased to confirm that all major camera manufacturers have confirmed their presence at the show. Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Sony, Fujifilm and Olympus, will be joined by other heavyweights such as Samyang, Epson, Hasselblad, Joby, Manfrotto, Sigma, Zeiss, Profoto and Atomos, each revealing their latest products and giving visitors an opportunity to get hands-on before they make a purchase at one of the show’s on-site retail outlets.

Explaining their participation at the show, Nikon School Training Manager Neil Freeman said: “The Photography Show gives us a unique opportunity to not only present our latest cameras and lenses, but for some of the most talented visual artists, like Joe McNally and Amy Shore, to explain why our products help them reach their creative potential. The event is the perfect place for any aspiring or professional photographer to learn more about all aspects of photography and to find the very best equipment.”

Developing your video skills

With 5 billion clips watched on YouTube and 100 million hours of video viewed on Facebook every day, digital filmmaking is a rapidly growing phenomenon. As more and more people look to capture not only still images but video content at weddings, sporting events and other special occasions, there is a growing demand for the best recording kit, audio equipment, gimbals, drones, editing software, headphones and lighting.

As a result, the second edition of The Video Show will return bigger and better, providing videographers with an inspirational platform to learn from professionals at the top of their game, while discovering incredible products from the likes of Sennheiser, DJI, AKM Music, Blackmagic Design and Benro.

Learning from the best

Ideas from industry leaders

The Photography Show and The Video Show’s highly acclaimed stages and educational programme will once again return, headlined by the Super Stage – a series of talks from some of the world’s best best-known and most-inspirational photographers and filmmakers. Additionally, throughout the event, visitors will be able to take in hundreds of expert-led sessions on the show floor, on exhibitor stands and Behind the Lens, Photo Live and Video Live, Social Stage, Photo and Video Editing Suite, and the ever-popular Drone Zone featuring Action Arena for the first time. In addition, the show will include brand new The Studio, offering insight into producing engaging content, and Shutter Street, featuring a range of sessions on street photography, guerrilla filmmaking, city wildlife and more.

Jonny Sullens, Head of Events at Future, which runs the two events, said: “Planning for the 2020 event is well underway and we’re delighted that the industry’s key players have already booked their spots, particularly considering the revolution that the camera market is currently experiencing. The Photography Show has always been an inspirational event and the addition of The Video Show has only added to the buzz at The NEC over four days. We’re excited to welcome experienced and budding photographers and filmmakers to Birmingham in March for what will undoubtedly be another fantastic event.”
