Fotospeed announce Martin Parr as headliner for fourth annual Foto Fest

Foto Fest returns for the fourth year running, bringing four world-renowned photographers and image makers to the stage to share the stories behind their iconic images.

Fotospeed’s Foto Fest is returning this September with a lineup of critically acclaimed photographers at the University of Bath for the fourth year running.

Taking place on 8th September 2019 in Bath, the return of Foto Fest will play host to Tom Way, Rachael Talibart, Nigel Danson, and will be headlined by influential documentary photographer and photojournalist Martin Parr. It will also include the return of the Foto Fest Market Place, which gives guests the opportunity to get exclusive deals from leading photography brands.

Hear from four of Britain’s best photographers at Fotospeed Talks

In 2019, Foto Fest brings together four Britain’s leading photographers to share their stories, experience, and knowledge to inspire photographers and help them to improve their photography. As well as talks, the festival brings together all four photographers for a panel discussion and Q&A led by The Togcast. Speakers include:

Martin Parr is one of the best-known documentary photographers of his generation. With over 100 books of his own published, and another 30 edited by Parr, his photographic legacy is already established. Join Martin to hear the inspiration behind his unique and colourful images of leisure, consumption, and communication.

Tom Way, professional fine art wildlife photographer and winner of various international competitions including the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year, will share stories of his adventures from around the world, describing how he has gone from working in a gym to traveling the globe taking wildlife images and exhibiting them over the UK. Join Tom for his talk ‘The Art of Wildlife Photography’ and find out what it takes to be a wildlife photographer as well as the importance of light and angles in composing a sellable image.

Award-winning photographer Rachael Talibart is most known for her Sirens portfolio, critically acclaimed photographs of stormy seas, named after creatures of myth and legend. Her work has been exhibited around the world, and she delivers photography workshops and tours as the owner of f11 workshops. Find out more about Rachael’s stories of the sea at Foto Fest 2019.

Nigel Danson became a full-time landscape photographer after a life-changing accident at Yosemite park, and is now one of the leading UK photography vloggers with over 100K YouTube subscribers. At Foto Fest, he’ll be talking about the lessons he’s learnt in his journey into landscape photography.
