Living World Photography Competition – Winners Announced
Fantastic image of ‘House Fly’ grabs top nature and wildlife photographic prize.
The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers have announced the winners of the Living World Photography Competition.
For this competition, we asked to see all kinds of images showing wildlife living in their natural environments.
Rod Hill from Merseyside, England was chosen as the winner from over 320+ images entered into the competition.
Rod has won 12 months membership to The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers (SINWP) organisation.
Rod tells us
“Many thanks for the award; it is quite humbling and also exiting to receive an award and have your work appreciated. This image was taken using a monopod and ball head using natural light only. I never use flash, preferring to only use available light. This is part of a series of images from the order Diptera or ‘Flies’. I am gradually building up my portfolio of macro wildlife images of the various different orders, which is a new and ongoing project.”
Phil Jones, the Societies CEO says,
“The quality of images entered into February’s competition was of a really high standard, with Rod’s brilliant close-up of a House Fly shows the theme of the competition.”
There are 2 runners-up Cindy Kassab from British Columbia and Sandy Scott from the Florida both won 6 months memberships.
