Panasonic Announces Updates for LUMIX S Series Cameras, Lenses and Apps

Panasonic has announced new firmware updates for its LUMIX S Series full-frame mirrorless cameras, along with updates for several lenses and the LUMIX Flow and LUMIX Lab smartphone apps to enhance video production and workflow features.
The updates apply to cameras including the LUMIX S1RII, S1II, S1IIE, S5II and S5IIX, adding compatibility with Panasonic’s DMW-DMS1 digital shotgun microphone, improved integration with the LUMIX Flow app, and enhanced operational stability.
Firmware updates for selected LUMIX S PRO lenses also introduce a customizable control ring using the focus ring, allowing users to assign key functions and adjust manual focus rotation direction.
The updated LUMIX Flow app (v1.5) adds a new Director Monitor mode for clip playback and rating, as well as customizable frame markers and LUT selection. Meanwhile, the LUMIX Lab app (v2.0.4) includes improved LUT management, enhanced photo editing tools, better Bluetooth pairing, and UI improvements.
All updates will be available free to download from 10 March through the LUMIX Global Customer Support website and app stores.
