Lifetime Achievement Award

Trevor and Faye Yerbury

How do you describe these people? From a 4th generation photographer, the business was founded by his great grandfather in 1864; which means 2014 celebrates 150 years in the industry. The Gentleman of this duo was born in 1951; joining the family business straight from school in 1969 he was trained in black and white printing. He then under went a 4-year apprenticeship where he experienced everything. In 1978, he met the better half of the duo who has become an established photographer in her own rights.

They specialise in teaching several unique photography workshops in the UK and further a field, passing on their wealth of knowledge to thousands of photographers. They are also regular judges on national and international juries; nevertheless they still continue to create the most beautiful portraits on which their reputation has been built. As well as this, their work in photographing the female nude has been recognised internationally, resulting in overseas exhibitions and seminar tours. In 2003, their talent was commissioned to supply the entire artwork for the 5* Glasshouse Hotel in Edinburgh – a very brave concept that resulted in the hotel being voted ‘Sexiest in the UK’.

Ian Loxley from Loxley Colour said, “As a family owned business ourselves, we appreciate and understand the hard work and dedication it takes to ensure a business endures the test of time. Trevor and Faye Yerbury take this ethic to truly new heights. They’re continual evolution, whilst staying true to the fine art style for which they become renowned, has sustained the work of generations before them and will no doubt have a significant impact on the industry for generations to come.

Working with Trevor and Faye Yerbury over the years, has been both an honour and a privilege. They’re professionalism and devotion to their art is a true inspiration and continues to be a pleasure to be a part of. We’re delighted to see them honoured by the Societies tonight in recognition of their commitment to the photography and fine art industries. Congratulations Trevor and Faye, from each and every member of the Loxley Colour team.”

Inspiring us all.
