Recognition Award 2023

This year we are awarding our Special Achievement to somebody who, not only has been a consistent and dedicated supporter of The Society of Photographers for over 20 years but has helped numerous photographers throughout their career with mentoring and judging.

This person did their first wedding in 1982 and was inspired by photographers like Keith Thompson and Nigel Harper. This person was one of the few photographers that went in for Associate and was numerously upgraded to a fellowship and then went and got Fellowships throughout the Industry.

This person has won numerous awards throughout the industry over many years. They have been involved with The Society of the Photographers for many years speaking and judging and on more than one occasion he was well known to be sitting with Photographers helping them in to the wee hours.

Gordon, has been inspired by the best, and then he himself has inspired three elements that he stands by within his photography which are the background, the pose and finally the expression and if you do that you are on to a winner! Although we all know that hands are his pet hate!!!!

So, this year we wanted to celebrate somebody who not only has given back to our industry, but also who goes out of his way to support, encourage, and help photographers to take their images to the next level.
