Lighting You Can See: Creative Portrait Photography Using Continuous Light (Evening Seminar) with Paul Wilkinson Photography

Shape light, explore colour and create beautiful portraits
Award-winning photographer Paul Wilkinson invites you to a practical, hands-on evening exploring the creative possibilities of continuous light in portrait photography.
One of the best things about continuous light is its simplicity: what you see is what you get. You can watch the light fall across your subject, see how shadows change and understand exactly how your adjustments affect the final image. It’s an intuitive, creative and enjoyable way to explore the art of lighting.
During this relaxed evening, Paul will experiment with a range of light sources, from LED panels and LED tubes to spotlights, torches and perhaps even a household lamp or two. You’ll discover how everyday and specialist lighting can be used to create striking portraits, develop atmosphere and bring your creative ideas to life.
It’s not about having the biggest kit; it’s about knowing what to do with the light you have.
Throughout the session, Paul will explore the importance of colour, direction, feathering and mood, demonstrating how small changes in the position or quality of light can make a significant difference to your images. You’ll also look at how a single light source can be used in different ways to produce a surprising variety of results.
Expect practical demonstrations, creative experimentation, plenty of ideas to take away and a relaxed evening of photography that’s genuinely good fun.
This seminar is ideal for portrait photographers who want to become more confident with continuous lighting, experiment with different creative effects or discover how to achieve beautiful results without investing in a complicated lighting setup.
