Cristina tells us –
My image is a re-interpretation of The Rose Bower, a painting by from The Briar Rose third series by Edward Burne-Jones. By exploring the Sleeping Beauty myth over a three-decade span, Burne-Jones sought to comment, through the medium of painting, on beauty, youth, love, desire and the flow of time. My image seeks to do the same, in photographic medium, adding a focus on identity and the perception of the self.
