Colin Jones

Colin Jones is the CEO of The Societies of Photographers, having led the organisation for many years with a focus on supporting photographers, developing new opportunities for members and growing the organisation’s role within the photographic industry.

With a background in business, marketing, events and publishing rather than photography itself, Colin brings a different perspective to the industry. He oversees The Societies’ membership, competitions, qualifications, education, events and Professional Imagemaker magazine, as well as working closely with photographers, manufacturers, retailers and other industry partners.

Away from The Societies, Colin has a long-standing involvement with the RNLI and is an active musician and performer. He is passionate about supporting photographers at every stage of their careers and ensuring The Societies continues to provide practical, relevant and accessible opportunities for photographers to improve their photography and build their businesses.
