Datacolor has expanded its Spyder Checkr range with four new reference card products designed to help photographers, videographers and content creators achieve more accurate colour, exposure and white balance from the point of capture.

The new products include the Spyder Checkr Photo Grey Balance Card, Spyder Checkr Photo White Balance Card, Spyder Checkr Photo Card Set and Spyder Checkr Video Card Set.

The launch forms part of Datacolor’s Camera Calibration Weeks, running throughout September, with 30% savings available on selected Spyder camera calibration tools for a limited time.

Accurate colour starts at capture

While monitor calibration is an important part of a professional colour-managed workflow, accurate results also begin when the image is captured.

The new Spyder Checkr reference cards are designed to provide photographers with reliable references for exposure, white balance and tonal range, helping to produce more consistent results in a wide range of lighting conditions.

The Spyder Checkr Photo Grey Balance Card combines an 18% neutral grey reference with a multi-step grayscale, providing a portable solution for exposure metering, white balance and tonal evaluation.

The Spyder Checkr Photo White Balance Card provides a spectrally neutral white reference alongside an integrated grayscale wedge, helping photographers achieve consistent white balance and assess tonal range at the point of capture.

Both cards are supplied with a protective sleeve and are now available individually.

Datacolor has also introduced standalone Spyder Checkr Photo and Video Card Sets, allowing users to replace individual cards rather than having to replace the entire card holder.

The Spyder Checkr system uses an ergonomic holder with slots for four interchangeable reference cards. This means photographers and videographers can create card combinations suited to their individual workflows, while replacing individual cards when required.

For photographers working across different types of photography, this provides a flexible way to configure their calibration tools to suit different applications.
