Building Skills and Team Spirit: Highlights from Our Junior Judges’ Training Days

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting two exciting training days for our incredible Junior Judges. These sessions focused not only on honing judging skills but also on strengthening the team dynamic, creating an environment where everyone could grow and learn together. It was a fantastic opportunity for our junior team members to connect, collaborate, and develop a deeper understanding of what makes outstanding photography.
Team Building and Skill Development
The training days centred around two key goals: enhancing judging expertise and fostering a strong sense of teamwork. From the moment the sessions began, it was clear that this was more than just about sharpening technical skills – it was about building a cohesive unit that supports and uplifts one another. Through engaging exercises and insightful discussions, we encouraged our Junior Judges to share their perspectives and learn from each other’s experiences.
By the end of the sessions, there was a noticeable boost in confidence across the team. Each individual walked away with new insights into what it takes to evaluate photography, as well as a renewed passion for the art itself. This was more than just learning how to judge – it was about learning how to appreciate the diverse ways photography can tell a story, convey emotion, and capture moments.

Collaboration in Action
What made these training days truly special was the collaborative spirit everyone brought to the table. It was inspiring to see our Junior Judges work together, offering feedback, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another as they tackled the complexities of photography judging. This sense of collaboration didn’t just benefit their judging skills; it also fostered a strong sense of community within the team.
There was a lot of learning, but also plenty of laughter, encouragement, and bonding that brought the team closer than ever before. The energy and enthusiasm in the room were contagious, reminding us all of the importance of teamwork in the creative process.
Looking Ahead
We are incredibly proud of the dedication and passion our Junior Judges showed throughout these two days. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who participated and contributed to making this such a productive and positive experience.
We’re excited to see how these new skills will be put into practice going forward. The team is better equipped than ever to evaluate photography with an eye for creativity, technical mastery, and storytelling. The future of our judging team looks bright, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!
