Nikon Releases the New Luts for N-Log Supervised By Red

, Nikon Releases the New Luts for N-Log Supervised By Red

Nikon is pleased to announce the release of four types of Creative LUTs and one type of Technical LUT, created with RED.

All available free of charge, these LUTs can be utilised for colour grading video footage shot in N-Log with Nikon mirrorless cameras.1 What’s more, you can also load them onto external monitors to preview a close-to finished look while shooting on location.

Boasting an array of innovative features, the Achromic LUT adds a low contrast monochrome effect to user’s footage while preserving texture details – creating a soft, refined look with a classic feel. Additionally, the Film Bias LUT produces a warm, film-like aesthetic to N-Log footage, with balanced colours and natural skin tones. This creates a subtle contrast that gives footage a sophisticated edge.

Meanwhile, the Film Bias Bleach Bypass LUT boasts a high-contrast, desaturated look inspired by the bleach bypass film technique – providing footage with a harsh, faded feel. Finally, the Film Bias Offset LUT offers a film-like warmth and softness by applying a unique combination of colour correction and contrast adjustment – elevating user’s content.

The Creative LUTs have all been created under the close supervision of RED Digital Cinema, Inc., a subsidiary of Nikon that is renowned for excellence in its manufacturing of professional digital cinema cameras. The line-up consists of ACHROMIC, FILM BIAS, FILM BIAS BLEACH BYPASS, and FILM BIAS OFFSET. These LUTs enable users to apply the essence of RED’s color science to Nikon mirrorless camera video workflows, making it possible to achieve a look comparable to video shot on RED cinema cameras when working with N-Log footage.
