Lexar expands its portable SSD lineup with the SL500 and ARMOR 700
Transcontinenta UK Ltd, as distributor of Lexar in the UK and Ireland, announces a new addition to the Lexar portable SSD line-up: the pocket-sized and superfast Lexar SL500 portable SSD, Lexar SL500 portable SSD with Magnetic Set and Lexar ARMOR 700 portable SSD.
Featuring a super-slim, solid aluminium unibody construction that fits in the palm of your hand, the Lexar SL500 portable SSD delivers exceptional read speeds of up to 2000MB/s and write speeds of up to 1800MB/s, maximizing efficiency. The SL500 portable SSD will be available in capacities ranging from 1TB to 4TB and is compatible with a wide range of devices, including laptops, cameras, Xbox X|S, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. Specifically, it supports Apple Log video recording in 4K 60FPS ProRes format on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Thanks to the portable SSD single-chip controller solution from Silicon Motion, the SL500 portable SSD provides higher performance while consuming less power and reduced heat generation. Also, the metal casing design enhances heat dissipation. Lower temperatures and reduced power consumption ensure stable performance and extended battery life, thereby enhancing the user’s shooting experience. Additionally, it comes with Lexar DataShield™ 256-bit AES encryption software to keep files secure.

Pricing and availability
The new Lexar SL500 portable SSD will be available soon at Lexar resellers in the UK and Ireland. Suggested retail prices will be €129.99 / £109.99 for the 500SL 1 TB version and €219.99 / £189.99 for the SL500 2 TB version. Both the Lexar SL500 portable SSD with Magnetic Set and Lexar ARMOR 700 portable SSD will be available in April and most likely have a premium price of around €25 / £20 over the SL500 versions.
