Have you ever fancied being a character in a romance novel?

By entering Julia Boggio’s photo competition for her new book, Camera Shy, that’s exactly what could happen if you win the top prize.

The brief is to take a picture of yourself or someone else reading a copy of Camera Shy. It must be professional standard, creative, original, and eye-catching enough to impress the judges: Kelly Brown, Damian McGillicuddy, and Sanjay Jogia.

When Boggio launched her first book, Shooters, in March 2023, it went straight onto multiple Amazon bestseller lists. How did she do it? “With a little help from my photography friends,” says Boggio, who is a professional photographer herself. “I asked Jerry Ghionis, who inspired the main heartthrob in the book, Kelly Brown, David Anthony Williams and many more to take pictures with the book. It was amazing! I think we broke the internet the day it launched. We did the same for book 2, but now I feel it’s time to open it up to a wider pool of talent.” You can view all the photos here.

Camera Shy takes place in Paris and tells the story of heartbroken Jess and what happens when she meets a sexy Frenchman. To get Camera Shy, you can either buy it from Amazon or you can register here and Julia will send you the PDF of the cover for you to comp into the image.

The final book in the trilogy is called Exposure!, and it takes place in Las Vegas at a photography conference. “The characters I have in mind for the contest winner are both fun, integral parts of the story,” says Julia. The book will be finished by the end of 2024.
