Lexar overhauls CFexpress Type B range

Lexar, one of the world’s leading brands of flash memory and storage solutions, is enhancing its CFexpress line to strengthen its leadership in this strategic market segment.

Now essential for speeding up professional videography and photography workflow, CFexpress cards have become a must-have for content creators. As the quality of video and photography continues to improve, it’s more important than ever to have cards with both faster transfer speeds and greater capacity.

To address these needs, Lexar has updated its CFexpress range, adding new capacities and speed to existing models to provide users with even higher performance.

The new range, still the widest on the market, will enable Lexar to consolidate its position as the leading brand for photographers and videographers

Building on the success of the 2022 launch of its CFexpress Type B and CFexpress Type A card range for Sony® cameras, Lexar is expanding its CFexpress Type B offering with new capacities and even faster speeds.

Here are the new additions to the range!

Diamond, Gold and Silver models will all be upgraded in terms of speed and capacity.

DIAMOND, the most powerful series on the market, has just seen the addition of a new capacity: already available in 128GB and 256GB, 512GB will be added to the lineup from June. With transfer speeds of up to 1900 MB/s read and 1700 MB/s write, and with VPG 400 certification, these cards enable RAW, ProRes and 8K video production, and speed up the post-production workflow considerably.

The GOLD series has been upgraded on two fronts:

The addition of 2 new capacities, 1TB and 2TB, to meet the needs of the most demanding users.
An increase in transfer speeds, for even more breathtaking performance, now allowing transfers of up to 1900MB/s in read-speed and 1500MB/s in write-speed for the 1TB and 2TB capacities, and up to 1750MB/s in read-speed and 1500MB/s in write-speed for the 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities.

Finally, to complete the range and meet the needs of all types of users, including those new to CFExpress technology, the SILVER Series will be overhauled by expanding and upgrading its performance:

Already available in 128GB and 256GB, the SILVER Series sees the addition of a 512GB capacity.
Its performance has also been upgraded, now offering transfer speeds of up to 1750MB/s1 in reading and 1300MB/s1 in writing.

Lexar will supplement the enhancements to its range and pricing with a marketing and PR campaign based around the “No Limits” message.
