Tether Tools Announces Air Direct Wireless Tethering System
Tether Tools introduces the Air Direct Wireless Tethering System, an innovative wireless camera controller that connects and transfers images instantly from supported cameras to a computer, tablet, or phone. Air Direct is compatible with all cameras that have the ability to tether, including Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Sony, Panasonic, and more. Shoot wirelessly using Smart Shooter, Capture One Pro, Lightroom, Darkroom, and many other tethering software programs. Once connected, all features native to the tethering software can be used.

Air Direct has been designed specifically to create a Wireless PTP connection from camera to computer and optimized to run extremely efficient. With dual band antennae broadcasting 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequencies, users will have the option to shoot further or faster depending on their needs. The Air Direct range is up to 200 ft depending on file size. USB-C and 802.11ac wireless protocol provide the latest technology to ensure fast, reliable transfers.
Air Direct uses its own power source providing the photographer peace of mind they can keep shooting without running down the camera’s battery. Using a top-loading 2,000 mAh LP-E6 battery with a 4 to 6-hour battery life, the Air Direct does not draw from the camera’s battery. A DC power port enables continuous power via AC or larger external batteries. Also, batteries can be hot-swapped without powering down Air Direct, saving time on set.
Nikon and Canon users can also take advantage of the companion Air Remote Mobile Tethering Application, available for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Air Remote is a wireless camera remote controller that works in tandem with the Air Direct Wireless Tethering System. Air Remote (also compatible with Case Air Wireless) features an intuitive design and optimal performance that makes wireless tethering and remote camera control from a mobile device simple and easy. The Air Remote Mobile Tethering App features creative zone control, live view, bracketing, time-lapse, focus stacking, bulb time, movie mode and more.
