Join award-winning portrait photographer and NoFussMuss YouTube tutor James Musselwhite, for a practical, beginner-friendly workshop focused on building confidence with studio lighting.

James will guide you through creating effective setups by starting with one light, then gradually introducing a second and third, showing how and why to expand your setup.

This session is all about simplifying lighting and helping you understand that you don’t always need more gear to achieve professional results.

Workshop Outline

7:00 – 7:30 PM | Welcome & Networking
Arrive, settle in, and connect with other photographers. A chance to chat, ask questions, and get familiar with the studio space.

7:30 – 8:15 PM | Seminar Presentation & Demonstration
A clear, easy-to-follow breakdown of studio lighting:

Starting with a single light: control and confidence
When and why we introduce additional lights to the set
Understanding light roles: such as key, fill, and separation
Using daylight or window light and reflectors to build a 3 light set up…with one light.

Hands-on shooting for delegates starting with 2 and moving to → 3 lights.
