Spring into Action Photography Competition – Winners Announced
The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers have announced the winners of the Spring into Action Photography Competition.
For this competition we asked for images from Bee’s, butterflies, birds, bugs, plants, animals in fact any type of nature and wildlife was welcome.
David Watkins from Surrey, England was chosen as the winner from over 300+ images entered in to the competition.
David has won 12 months membership to The Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers (SINWP) organisation.
David tells us
”Wow, thanks very much. Not won anything before so very pleased!! The shot was taken on an estuary of the River Severn, just off the M5. It was an early start and this was one of the first visits which was incredibly lucky. It was a beautiful morning with lovely sunshine. I spent around ten hours that day watching these lovely birds. It was a fascinating day as the activity throughout the day, was very up and down. I saw a pair of Kingfishers who were obviously feeding their young as they were active all the time I was there.”
Phil Jones, the Societies CEO says,
”April’s competition was full of great images, from flowering buds to honey bees gathering nectar. David’s image of a kingfisher capturing it’s meal grabbed the subject matter very well in the fresh spring sunshine.”
There are 2 runners-up Gareth Norman from Leicestershire and Gerald Leeper from Perthshire both won 6 months memberships.”
