London Camera Exchange (LCE) is excited to host an exclusive Canon EOS R Experience Day at the prestigious Utilita Bowl, Southampton on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. This special event offers 15 photographers the unique opportunity to test the latest Canon cameras, including the much-anticipated EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II, during a live-action County Cricket match between Hampshire and Worcestershire.

Event Details:

Experience the Latest Canon Technology

Participants will have the rare chance to test drive Canon’s cutting-edge EOS R1 and EOS R5 II cameras, alongside other EOS R system bodies, lenses, and accessories. The EOS R1 and EOS R5 II will be available as working pre-production units, providing an exclusive preview of Canon’s latest innovations in sports photography. Please note that images captured on these pre-production units will be deleted in-camera at the end of the session.

A Canon A3 printer will be on-site, offering attendees complimentary prints of their favourite images captured during the event (excluding images taken on the EOS R1 and EOS R5 II). This adds a tangible takeaway from what promises to be a day filled with creative exploration.

Guidance from Professional Sports Photographer Eddie Keogh

The event will be highlighted by the presence of renowned Canon Pro Sports Photographer Eddie Keogh, who will kick off the day with a presentation on his recent work with the England Football Team at the Euros in Germany. Eddie’s decades of experience will provide invaluable insights into the art of sports photography. Following his talk, Eddie will lead a guided walk-around of the cricket ground, offering practical tips on camera setups and settings to help attendees make the most of their Canon gear.

Event Schedule:

  • 10:00 AM – 10:15 AM: Arrival and Registration, Coffee and Refreshments
  • 10:15 AM – 11:30 AM: Introduction and Presentation by Eddie Keogh, including Q&A
  • 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: First Shooting Session (Printing starts around 1:00 PM)
