, Street Photography Competition – Results Announced

The Society of International Travel and Tourism Photographers (SITTP) is happy to announce the results from the recent Street Photography Competition.

Jason Au from Hong Kong image entitled ‘Social Distancing‘ was chosen as the winner.

Jason has won 12 months Professional membership to The Societies (worth £150).

Equipment used – Leica M10 Monochrom with Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH.

Jason tells us Thank you very much for the exciting news about my first-place award. On a Sunday during the Covid-19 pandemic, Hong Kong residents congregated in a shopping mall atrium. To tackle Covid-19, the Hong Kong government has enforced by law to prohibit group gatherings of more than four persons in public places. Therefore, every group of people maintained a minimum 1.5 meter ‘social distance’ from another group of people. A compliance officer wearing a lanyard around his neck was seen enforcing the social distancing rule.”

Colin Jones The Societies CEO says The quality of entries for this year’s Street Photography Competition was exceptionally high. Jason’s image depicting social distancing seamlessly fits into the competition’s narrative.”

Mike Kitchen from Essex, England was awarded 2nd place and Ryan Hutton from Kincardineshire, Scotland was awarded 3rd place.
