Affinity in prime position for ARM64 launch
The Affinity creative suite is ready to deliver superfast performance on the latest Snapdragon X Elite ARM64 PC chips announced this week.
The Affinity v2.5 update is ready to tap straight into the potential of next-generation Windows PCs for users of graphic design software Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo for image editing and Affinity Publisher for document layout.
Ashley Hewson, CEO of Affinity, says: “We’re proud that our products are leading the way once again, this time in offering full native support for the new Snapdragon X Elite chip.
“It’s always been our vision to have a suite of creative software that was ready to ride the wave of advances in computer technology. The latest chips deliver astounding performance and it’s a tribute to our team that once again, we’re fully optimised on Day One of the rollout to customers.
“The advantages will be particularly noticeable when working on documents with thousands of vector objects, for example.”
Snapdragon X Elite is the most powerful and efficient processor ever created for Windows in its class. Its new CPU ensures high performance and remarkable power efficiency while a premium integrated GPU delivers stunning graphics performance, essential for the Affinity suite.
Affinity developers worked closely with counterparts at chip maker Qualcomm and with Microsoft ahead of the launch of the first machines to use the chip, announced at Microsoft Build in Seattle on 21 May.
Affinity customers ordering machines with the new chip can expect a stunningly-responsive user experience with tasks like painting, pixel editing, filter effects, document rendering and more.
It also enables many more elements like adjustment layers and live filters to be active before performance suffers – allowing for a more non-destructive workflow, even on the most complex of documents.
Affinity v2.5 will be available on Thursday 23 May as a free update for existing users.
