Shimoda launch the all-new Action X v2 photography backpack

Shimoda, The Adventure Photography brand, is launching the all-new Action X v2.  The Action X has always been popular with sports and outdoor photographers. The new range now starts with a compact 25L size and extends through to the X70 HD (Heavy Duty) that is robust and able to handle extreme outdoor conditions, being large enough for cinema camera systems or super-telephoto lenses like a 600mm f4.0.

The Action X v2 collection features a rolltop design, which allows for expandability and this new range has been made even more travel friendly and robust with upgraded construction and materials for those who need a pack built for rough terrain and bad weather; The frame is made from durable aluminium, the webbing and shoulder straps are enhanced with more padding and ventilation.  The Action X now features a base / grab handle, which means that the bag can be moved quickly with two hands, to allow the user to get into position quickly without the contents falling out.  There is also a luggage pass-through handle allowing it to be placed easily onto other luggage with extendable handles and should the weather be bad, there is now a rain cover.

Adjustable Hip Belt
The updated belt can now be reduced or expanded in size for users with smaller or larger waists.

Hidden Pocket for Apple AirTag/ Tile Tracker
Special hidden sleeve securely fits an AirTag so you can always find your camera bag. 

Removable Tripod / Water Bottle Pocket
If you do not need to use the tripod / water bottle pocket then removing them completely allows the side pocket they were stored in to be used for other things.

Larger Mobile Phone Pocket
The larger sized pockets are compatible with iPhone MAX 13 & 14

Dual Laptop Storage
Store up to a 14” Laptop in the X25, or upto 16” in the X30, X40, X50 & X70 HD. Having two sleeves lets you pack both a tablet and laptop while providing options for various packing scenarios

New Yellow Colourway
In addition to the established Black and Army Green colourways, Shimoda have introduced a new yellow colourway which given it’s association with mountain safety comes highly requested from the Shimoda community.

Multiple Access Points
The Shimoda Action X backpack offers rear and side access options (No side access on X70 HD). The side opening is ideal for quick, under-the-arm access without completely removing the pack, and the rear opening allows wide, unobstructed access to the bulk of your gear for less time-sensitive shooting situations.

• New XXL DV Core Unit fits a 600mm f4.0 lens even when attached to a camera. The core unit also features a new top access panel allowing the camera and lens to be removed through the roll top.

The Action X v2 Collection features Shimoda’s versatile system of interchangeable core units.  These allow the photographer to switch between different sizes depending on how much camera gear needs to be carried.  Shimoda users can opt to purchase their choice of bag and core unit separately depending on their own, individual requirements, or in a Starter Kit where the most popular bag and core unit have been packaged together.
