Gemma Sains
Gemma Sains is an award-winning photographer and double Fellow of the SWPP. She achieved her first Fellowship in Portraiture in March 2023, followed by a second in Illustrative (Macro Photography) in January 2025—a rare distinction that reflects both her versatility and mastery.
With a passion for revealing the intricacies of the natural world, Gemma has carved out a unique niche photographing taxidermy insects. Her macro images showcase the delicate details and hidden beauty of her subjects, blending technical precision with striking artistry.
Beyond her own work, Gemma is a dedicated educator. Her workshops are celebrated for their approachable, hands-on style, offering photographers practical skills and creative techniques to expand their craft. Whether it’s mastering insect macro photography or building simple mini-studios, Gemma’s teaching inspires photographers to experiment, refine, and elevate their vision.
