The All Things Macro masterclass will show how you can produce fantastic macro and close-up images in your home using nothing more than a standard kit lens, some very basic, cheap lighting plus a couple of props found in most homes.

We will look at several lighting set-up ideas and effects to create a wide variety of environments. Each of the lighting ideas are under £50 – no big, expensive flash units involved!

We’ll then discuss how you can use the standard kit lens combined with a selection of alternatives such as Raynox lenses, extension tubes and close-up filters. We’ll then compare one subject with each combination to find the best result.

Next, we’ll look at ideas for useful props and where to source them, how to create simple boards and backdrops that are easy to store.

And finally, we talk about stacking images; the equipment needed, the technique and a demonstration of the software used.
