Emma Jane (Hamilton) is a Newborn Photographer from Oxfordshire, UK and has been an educator in her field for the previous 5 years. Having taught hundreds of fellow photographers internationally she has developed a good understanding of the pitfalls faced commonly by newborn photographers, which creates barriers to creativity, variety in what they can offer clients and most importantly confidence in their businesses.
By nurturing a safe, informative environment she has seen instant transformations in her trainees’ workflow, execution and confidence. Her practice focusses from the ground up, starting with the foundations of psychology, safety, biology and the physical elements of this very specific genre before tackling the photographic elements such as lighting, camera settings and post production.
Emma’s philosophy focusses on understanding and working with the newborn, which aids her client sessions by working with the newborn instead of against them, creating a safe and enjoyable experience for baby and parents, and providing clients with a varied and consistent gallery of images for them to treasure forever.
Emma Jane comes from a teaching background, having spent 8 years as a primary school teacher in the UK. Her early career enabled her to hone the communication skills necessary to deliver information in a succinct manner whilst ensuring her audience is engaged and interested, regardless of age or background. This also sparked a love of working with children, which naturally fed into her next career as a children and newborn photographer.
Since leaving the teaching profession within a school setting, she has built a client business from the ground up and is now a well known, established household name within her local community and across the UK. From Sunday to Wednesday she runs her photography business, Little Love Photography, which focusses on client experience and providing memories to last them a lifetime. She covers Maternity, Newborn, Sitter, Cake Smash and Family sessions and fills her sessions with love, passion and enthusiasm.
On Thursdays and Fridays Emma runs her second business, Newborn Training with Emma Jane, whereby she travels up and down the UK and beyond teaching other newborn photographers in both group and 1-2-1 hands on sessions using real babies and focussing on building muscle memory and understanding the psychology behind her subject.
In addition to this she hosts and runs her own workshops and weekly 1-2-1 hands on sessions with hundreds of photographers a year and has built a solid reputation as an educator in her field.
Emma Jane is an ambassador for Digitalab, a well known professional lab based in Newcastle, UK, and works closely within their educator sector providing support and education. She is also a Sony Alpha Creator and has been sponsored on numerous occasions by Sony in her stage talks across the county.
Newborn Photography is different to all other genres due to the nature of the subject and Emma has spent the last 8 years dedicating her career to understanding and working alongside the needs of her tiny subjects. She is one of the highest regarded newborn educators in the UK and has received praise for her teaching style and friendly nature, taking joy from the memories she creates for her clients and the confidence she builds with her students.
