Rebecca Douglas

Rebecca Douglas

Rebecca Douglas is an edgewalker, way shower, liminal being, ocean advocate, and storyteller of nature. Her work invites viewers into the wild edges and threshold spaces where the known dissolves into the unknown, and where transformation begins.

A bridge between worlds, Rebecca weaves together science and myth, intellect and intuition, structure and liminality. Through photography, film, drone work, speaking, and writing, she translates nature’s stories into evocative visual narratives.

Rejecting homogenisation and formulaic brand storytelling, Rebecca’s approach creates space for imagery to unfold naturally—trusting in the alchemy of presence, process, and radical authenticity. Her work is both a celebration and a reckoning: a source of awe that also holds space for the urgent ecological realities facing our planet.

With an academic background in Geography and Marine Resource Management, a sixth-sense connection to the natural world, and a gift for human-centred storytelling, Rebecca is widely regarded as a unique and sought-after visual artist.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Hold Still, a landmark National Portrait Gallery project in London, where one of her images now resides in the gallery’s permanent digital archive.

An ocean advocate and President of the Board of Trustees for Whale Wise, Rebecca creates powerful visual stories that amplify nature’s message and its messengers. She has collaborated with Visit Britain, Fujifilm, and Dryrobe, and her work has been featured by National Geographic and NASA. In 2024, she was awarded 2nd place in the Ocean Photographer of the Year (Conservation/Impact category).

Whether chasing the aurora, filming beneath subzero seas, or traversing wild spaces where earth, ocean, and sky converge, Rebecca’s mission remains the same: to ignite collective curiosity and awe, spark awakened action, and rewild our connection to nature.
