Nick Church is a photographer, educator, and founder of the Nick Church Creative Academy. He is also co-host of The Photography Pod podcast.

Nick’s career began in the software industry, where he rose to CTO level before photography unexpectedly changed his path. In 2015, he bought his first camera—an Olympus OMD EM-10—for a business trip to Malaysia, simply to take “better than phone” pictures. He was instantly hooked. What started as a hobby soon evolved into wedding photography, and by 2018 he had left the boardroom behind to run his wedding and commercial photography business full-time.

His journey—and the challenges photographers face when transitioning into a creative career—form the basis of his Death Zone talk at The Societies 2026 Convention, where he shares proven strategies to overcome obstacles and build a thriving photography business.

Nick’s rapid growth, both creatively and commercially, led to global podcast invitations and speaking opportunities, sparking the education side of his career. Passionate about helping photographers achieve their goals, he has mentored countless creatives to find success in their craft and business.

In 2025, Nick launched the Nick Church Creative Academy, an online training platform offering courses, mentorship, in-person workshops, and a supportive community. The Academy allows him to reach and inspire many more photographers worldwide.
