Why Shoot with Filters?
The primary reason for using ND Filters in aerial photography/videography is to achieve the correct exposure for your shot and to generate motion blur.

Motion blur is important in videography as the human eye and brain always experience motion in real life. With today’s super-high frame rates, it’s important to apply the 180-degree rule to add motion blur and ND filters are the perfect tool for this. The 180-degree rule describes the relationship between shutter speed and frame rate when shooting motion. Essentially, this means that your shutter speed should be set to double your frame rate. In simple terms, ‘cinematic shutter speeds’ are the standard by which shutter speed is set at double the user’s frame rate, or as close as possible.

This rule also applies to stills photography and can be exaggerated to produce incredible results in adding the effect of motion to scenes with running water, moving clouds, vehicles and much more.

Of course, rules are made to be broken, so this can be applied in various ways to achieve unique aesthetics in creative image-making.

Polarising Filters provide anti-reflective superpowers in videography and still photography. STC’s perfect polarising partners will kill reflections from glass, water, metallic and other surfaces. This effect is also extremely useful in the growing photogrammetry market, where photographers and videographers map objects to create ‘digital twins’ for game development and virtual film production.  STC’s premium polarising filters will give the very best results for these purposes, producing perfectly muted images and footage, which will give the best results when rendering for future use of the asset.

ANEX^TM ET10 Micro Column Extender

The ANEX ET10 is a Micro Column made from 8x layer carbon fibre combined with corrosion resistant 6061 aluminium. 3/8” female thread to base and a ¼” male thread to the top. Quickly extendable via aluminium twist locks. Expand from a closed length of 260mm to a fully extended length 625mm.

ANEX^TM UC-1 Mini Clamp

The UC-1 Mini Clamp is designed as a universal clamp to enable attachment of a multitude of products to a static object, such as a branch, railing or tripod leg. The MC-100 is a multipurpose clamp that can be attached to any 1/4”-20 or 3/8″-16 male screw thread. In total there are six 1/4″ connection points and one 3/8″ connection point. This C-shaped clamp is suitable for attaching to a pole, fence, table and much more. Great for holding LED light panels, flash equipment, action cameras etc., up to 3Kg.
