Sony has announced the FE 100mm F2.8 Macro G Master OSS, its first true G Master macro prime lens, designed to redefine close-up photography. The lens delivers up to 1.4× native magnification (expandable to 2.8× with teleconverters), making it one of the most versatile macro tools in its class. Featuring four XD linear motors, it offers fast, quiet, and precise autofocus, while a newly optimized Optical SteadyShot system minimizes shake even at extreme magnifications. Built for professionals, it includes dust and moisture resistance, fluorine coating, internal focusing, and intuitive controls such as a sliding focus clutch, aperture ring, and focus limiter. Beyond macro, the lens also excels in portraits, weddings, and detailed product work.

Pricing and Availability

The Sony FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS will be available in November 2025 for approximately ​ 1,600€ / £1,400.
