FUJIFILM Europe GmbH, Imaging Solutions Division, is thrilled to announce the next big thing in instant memories: instax SPOT™ photobooth and print station (hereafter instax SPOT™). The premium, next generation standalone photobooth & print station is a high-energy hub of creativity designed to turn consumer experiences into tangible memories they can hold.

As a turnkey solution for high-traffic businesses including movie theaters, museums, amusement parks, and more, instax SPOT™ offers guests a bespoke, high-value souvenir to amplify and better remember their experiences.

“There is such a cultural love for instax™ instant photography, and we wanted to provide a way for businesses to tap into that with their consumers” said Shin Udono, Senior Vice President, Imaging Solutions, FUJIFILM Europe. “instax SPOT™ turns a corner of a lobby or a museum hall into a social hub. It’s a low-maintenance, high-engagement tool that lets guests walk away with a physical memory of their experience and further endear them to the locations they’re visiting.”

One Machine, Two Ways to Engage
Available in a tabletop and standalone format, instax SPOT™ bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds, giving consumers two ways to interact with and engage on-site:

– The Next-Gen Photobooth Experience: Bringing the traditional photobooth experience to the next level with an open-access AR photobooth and compact footprint, consumers can take and make instax™ photos at the instax SPOT™ station.

– The Wireless Print Hub: On the instax SPOT™ screen, consumers can scan a QR code with their smartphone and print existing memories from their camera roll onto the iconic instax™ instant film.

Not just a printer; instax SPOT™ is a creativity station with everything consumers love about the instax™ brand. Each photobooth comes pre-loaded with features including:
– AR (Augmented Reality) Capabilities: Add digital, animated and 3D visual effects to physical photos.
– Location-Specific Customization: Venues can offer exclusive borders and digital stickers tailored to their specific event or brand.
– LED Lighting: The lighting features on the top and sides of the screen act as a ring light to enhance the images it captures, giving photobooth vibes.

instax SPOT™ will offer units that print on either instax™ mini instant film or instax™ SQUARE instant film. Instax SPOT™ will be available from May 14th 2026.
PermaJet is proud to announce the launch of Portrait Rag 305, the next generation of its award-winning fine art paper, Portrait Rag 285.

This new version features a full 305gsm base, a more pronounced surface texture, and an enhanced scuff resistant coating, delivering even greater impact and performance for photographers, artists, and print professionals.

Building on the trusted 20-year legacy of Portrait Rag 285, the new Portrait Rag 305 has been expertly developed to meet the evolving needs of today’s creative professionals. The increased 305gsm weight delivers a more luxurious feel and improved rigidity, while the refined surface texture enhances depth and image detail. A newly formulated coating further elevates performance, producing exceptional black density and colour range, rarely achieved on 100% cotton papers.

“Portrait Rag 305 has taken our long-respected formula and improved it even further,” said Robin Whetton, Managing Director. “This new version responds directly to customer needs – introducing additional weight to satisfy the 300gsm+ fine art sector, while enhancing the premium look and feel PermaJet is known for.”

Made from 100% cotton linters, Portrait Rag 305 is ideal for fine art photography, gallery and exhibition prints, and premium edition work. Its excellent tonal range, rich blacks, and vibrant colour reproduction make it a versatile choice for both photographic and artistic applications.

Portrait Rag 305 is available via PermaJet’s website and authorised distribution partners from the 17th June in a full range of sheet and roll sizes to suit all workflows.

UK-based photo and print specialist supplier, PhotoXport, is excited to reveal a new and exclusive partnership with the revolutionary specialist photobook manufacturer, LayFlat, offering quality printing and bookbinding systems to a broad range of customers and business applications.

LayFlat.com’s groundbreaking solutions for premium printing and book binding have been taking the global photobook industry by storm. As the company continues its global expansion, PhotoXport Global Ltd’s role as the brand’s official reseller for the UK offers the market-leading solutions and the support that is central to the company’s ethos to photo retailers, pro-labs, print shops and print fulfilment operations across the UK.

“Derek and the team at PhotoXport have photo-printing DNA in their blood. They understand that there is a significant potential market outside of the traditional photo sector with LayFlat technologies. They have a fantastic reputation in the UK market with robust support. We are excited to see how the business develops in the territory and we are behind them for every step of the journey.” Djawad Khorosh, CEO, LayFlat.

As the name suggests, the LayFlat business concentrates on the classic LayFlat photo-book binding industry and is a sister organisation of the company, Imaging Solutions. Imaging Solutions, the inventor of the classic lay flat machine market, has produced products that have set the benchmark with single sided print, creased folding and hot melted glue in industrial automated standards and can be found in all major labs, including Harrier, Cewe, Graphi Studio and more. The LayFlat range of products have been designed to offer shorter print runs while producing the same, high-quality technology to other areas of the print market with regional distribution and support. The range includes traditional single-sided print solutions, the V-Shape LayFlat Binding range, which include an innovative patented technology for duplex prints, bespoke casing-in, book press, coating, folding, creasing and lamination products for a complete, end-to-end workflow. PhotoXport will deliver these premium solutions and support for the UK market.

“We’re extremely excited to announce this new partnership with LayFlat.com.
Judges’ comments

‘We loved the simplicity and uniqueness of that image. What made it the winner though was the cleaver use of humour that broke up the perfection as a lone ant can be seen making its way across the mount to find its place, that was left vacant for them within the frame, as if the others were all waiting.’

For full details on The Societies’ Photographer of the Year Awards please check out the website https://thesocieties.net/the-societies-of-photographers-photographer-of-the-year-2022-2023/

Tomorrow’s leisure attractions, social and corporate events will feature robot photographers, improved photobooths and further increase the demand for on-the-spot prints. All the technology is in place from familiar photobooths and Wi-Fi print stations to the Eva Photography Robot which (or who?) can circulate at functions and interact with guests.

Now there is one e-commerce shop able to supply everything from the systems to the profitable supplies, set-ups and later in the year training courses – look for the new name, Visualis.

The new Robots and booths at Visualis are manufactured and supported by the Warrington Group of companies who continue to excel at developing the next big thing for the hospitality sector.

The mainstream business for Visualis is focused on hospitality and visitor attractions, updating old methods for taking and selling souvenir photos. Systems and supplies start with event photographers wanting the fastest and most economical dye-sub printing in the field – often literally in the field for equestrian, sports and festival opportunities. At the top end, permanent studio booths or Eva’s engaging presence give major venues the edge.

The age of the selfie which never gets printed is over now, it’s so easy to set up instant on the spot printing from smartphones. Photobooths and bots will beat the selfie too with great group, family and party shots.

Brands include Citizen, Mitsubishi, DNP, HiTi, The Eva robot, Durico, Photobooths, ID Pro for identity and passport portraiture and later in the year a new concept called Surface Printer. Alongside the venue, retail and pro photographic customer base Visualis will serve medical, scientific, industrial and security clients.

Into 2022 Visualis will launch new photobooths and unveil a brand new concept for attractions from the company’s joint venture partner, System Insight Limited.

From September 3rd, check out all the offers and news at www.visualis.co.uk

Call Visualis on +44 (0)1329 722650 or email info@visualis.co.uk – www.visualis.co.uk

Print your own photo with depth.

Be among the first to have your own 3D picture printed!

Floop Photography is such a cool new company. They can convert and print any photo from a 2D photo to an optical 3D image. With their new automated technology, they calculate the original depth in a photo and via a specially designed print process, print this depth on very detailed specialised lens material. When you then look at your photo it shows real depth. Martijn says “To me it represents the future of photography. A new art form is born, but most of all the true potential of any photo (old or new) has been unlocked being ‘ realistic picture enabled by DEPTH”

A Distinctive Line in Print Mounting

Coloured face, white core mount board can be used,
when expertly bevel cut, to create a perfect white keyline in a double layer
matt overlay, enhancing the image and increasing its retail value.

Precision cutting to a huge range of standard sizes
makes off the shelf double mount overlays from Cotswold Mounts an ideal
solution for busy professional photographers. All you need to add is your print.
The great value cost of two-layer overlays, with the white core keyline, is
less than two single layer mounts of the same size. The outer and inner boards
can be selected from a wide range of colours.

There’s no need to frame if the customer wants delivery
for local framing. Costwold Mounts can supply a backing board and presentation
clear bag to ensure your work looks worth a premium.

Remember – the dual mount shades can be picked to go
with home decor, harmonise or contrast with the photograph, or match brand or
team colours. Customised Options are available.
