For users of LED continuous lighting, the portable flat panel light is a must-have in any equipment arsenal. The new Smart Lite Bi-Colour LED Light Panel from Kenro is the perfect versatile lighting solution, delivering exceptional performance and flexibility. Accessibly priced at just £149.99 and ticking every box for positioning, brightness control, colour control and light quality, this 45W slimline light panel is ideal for professional photographers and film makers, content creators, enthusiasts, and anyone who needs bright, evenly diffused illumination.

Supplied with a 2.4G remote control, it is easy to use and control from anywhere in the room, and is ideal for use in the studio or out on location, with the option to be powered by the included DC power adapter, or via 2x Sony F-series batteries (not included).

High fidelity colour

When capturing images, light is everything, and the light source needs to accurately do justice to the user’s creative vision. The KSLP104 boasts an impressive CRI (Ra) of 96+ and a TLCI of 97+, ensuring accurate and vibrant colours in photos and videos. It is equipped with a CCT colour temperature range of 7500-3200K, allowing the colour temperature to be adjusted to suit the shooting environment, and its dimming range of 1-100% gives precision control over the intensity of the light, making it easy to achieve the desired effect.

Combine professional power with portability

This all-purpose bi-colour LED light panel offers reliable, top quality illumination whether in the studio or on location. With its 256 high-quality LEDs, this light panel produces a powerful 2500 LM brightness and up to 3300 Lux illumination. Its built-in diffuser softens and distributes the light evenly.

The Kenro Smart Lite Bi-Colour LED Light Panel is built with a durable aluminium alloy casing, designed to withstand the rigours of professional use, but remains lightweight at just 1300g. Its optimum operating temperature range of -10 to 40 degrees Celsius makes it suitable for use in a variety of environments, and at just 12mm thick, this light fits into even the tightest of spaces, with overall dimensions of 360 x 256 x 12mm.

It can be powered by a DC power adapter (included) or two Sony F-series batteries (not included), making it a versatile and portable lighting solution.

Precision control from the perfect position

Designed to fit securely on any standard light stand spigot, the light head can be vertically adjusted 180 degrees to give the perfect lighting angle. Adjustments can be made directly on the light using the intuitive buttons and dials, but once the light is perfectly positioned, the included 2.4G remote control can also be used to adjust temperature, brightness and mode from a distance, without the user having to move the light and compromise continuity.

Special effects for film makers

The KSLP104 Smart Lite also features a range of special lighting effects, including lightning, screen flicker, explosion, firework, welding, SOS and candlelight effects, adding creative and unique touches to filming and video projects.

Kenro’s MD, Paul Kench, says: “This much-requested new light panel perfectly complements Kenro’s existing range of LED Smart Lite panels, filling a gap between the pocket-sized KSLP101 bi-colour light panel, and the larger KSLP103 RGB light panel. It’s another fantastic addition to an already strong product range, curated with Kenro’s 50 years of experience in providing just what photographers need.”

Other lights in the range include the award-winning KSLR101 RGB Ring Light Kit, and two ultra-portable RGB lights with integrated batteries: the KSLP102 Compact RGB Light Panel, and the KSLT101 Compact RGB Tube Light.

British LED lighting manufacturer, Rotolight, has announced a firmware update available for all users of its award-winning AEOS 2 and NEO 3 RGBWW LED lights, offering a range of advancements to the popular lighting products.

This firmware upgrade adds a number of powerful enhancements to the functionality of the ground-breaking new lights whilst also implementing some popular user-requested features, as well as general performance improvements.

These updates continue to add to the extensive feature set that has seen the Rotolight AEOS 2 and NEO 3 scoop numerous awards since the product commenced shipping in February 22’ and demonstrates Rotolight’s commitment to delivering continual improvements and innovations to its loyal user base.

New Features

The latest firmware update includes selectable fan control modes, including Silent Fan Mode designed for video users, and is fully user-controllable.

A new ‘Lux mode’ setting offers the ultimate control for both video & photo users to extract maximum performance from the light, or to achieve a constant exposure across colour temperatures depending on user preference. Maximum Lux Mode will appeal to photographers, who want to utilise the maximum power of the lights at all times, whereas Constant Lux Mode is designed for videographers and cinematographers who may wish to maintain a constant exposure (lux) regardless of the colour temperature selected.

Rotolight NEO 3 and AEOS 2 feature an industry-first touchscreen interface that provides enhanced control and saves time on set. By popular demand, a new Touchscreen Lock Mode has been added to enable the lights to be placed in any location (i.e. a fireplace), whilst preventing accidental adjustment to chosen settings. To activate, simply press and hold both knobs at the same time to lock/unlock the screen.

This update features extensive enhancements of CineSFX® modes, including improved navigation of SFX controls making user customisation of SFX even more intuitive, as well as enhanced colour realism, and refinements to triggering of SFX via the wireless Elinchrom Skyport transmitter.

In an industry-first feature, the Rotolight NEO 3/ AEOS 2 now includes Dynamic Multi-Language Support which offers real-time adjustment throughout all menus and displays, in native Italian, French, German, Spanish and Dutch.

These new firmware additions have been developed alongside a suite of general performance improvements and minor bug fixes, including improved battery performance in maximum flash power, and improved third-party battery support in ‘max’ flash mode.

Rod Aaron Gammons, CEO, Rotolight, said: “The latest firmware updates for the Rotolight AEOS 2 and NEO 3 really demonstrate our commitment to deliver ongoing support for our users. The latest products in our range have already been incredibly well-received by creatives across the globe and we intend to continue to push forward with developments, reacting to requests from our customers while future-proofing their creative solutions.”

Firmware Roadmap

A major update (Firmware 2.0) is expected in late July providing support for Rotolight’s new native iOS & Android app which is in the final stages of beta testing and will launch simultaneously. The Rotolight app will provide wireless real-time control of brightness, colour temperature, HSI, gels, SFX, flash settings and more for the AEOS 2/NEO 3.

Additionally, this update includes a brand-new green/magenta correction control, along with numerous additional enhancements.

MAC Group EU is announced as a Distributor for NanLite in the UK and Ireland, a broad, versatile range of LED lights and accessories designed to help all sorts of image-makers and storytellers achieve their vision.

The original company was established in 1992 with the goal of creating a better LED light. What followed was a relentless pursuit by a team of passionate and skilled engineers and product designers, to make the best range of continuous (LED) lights possible, with a focus on quality. Along the way, they earned over 100 patents as well as a reputation for exceptional customer service and for listening to customers in the continual refinement of products.

This allows them to respond quickly to customer needs with state-of-the-art technologies and the highest level of quality control.”

Terry Caws, MAC Group Europe’s incoming NanLite Product Marketing Manager commented: “Having been privileged to have been a part of the exponential growth of the NanLite brand, with the support and experience gained by our MAC Group US colleagues, the MAC Group Europe team and NanLite, are ready to take the brand to the next level in the UK & Ireland. As the photographic industry continutes to evolve, many photographers and content creators are finding increasing and ever more demanding applications for continuous lighting, and as such the requirements for quality, robust and versatile products grow.
