Powered by AF-C continuous autofocus, Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution with High Dynamic Range, 10-stop stabilisation, and Phocus Mobile 2, the X2D II 100C delivers unmatched creative control in a compact, powerful system.

Following the groundbreaking success of the X2D 100C, Hasselblad today releases the X2D II 100C, the industry’s first 100-megapixel medium format camera with true end-to-end high dynamic range (HDR)[1]. With AF-C continuous autofocus[2], Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution with High Dynamic Range (HNCS HDR), and industry-leading 10-stop in-body image stabilisation, the new camera delivers even more true-to-life colour, faster focusing performance, and greater hand-held control. Combined with Phocus Mobile 2, it offers a seamless workflow and expands creative possibilities across landscape, portrait, street, and travel photography.

Launching alongside the X2D II 100C is the XCD 2,8–4/35–100E, a wide-angle to medium telephoto zoom lens that covers the most commonly used focal lengths. With a wide f/2,8 aperture and flagship optics designed for top-tier performance, it excels in low-light conditions and delivers the fastest focusing speed in the Hasselblad XCD lens lineup.

HASSELBLAD X2D II 100C: BRILLIANCE AT EVERY MOMENT

For the first time on a Hasselblad camera, the X2D II 100C introduces AF-C continuous autofocus. Powered by deep learning algorithms, the system delivers reliable performance, accurately detecting and tracking moving subjects. Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) coverage has been expanded from 294 to 425 zones and works together with LiDAR-assisted focusing to ensure fast and accurate results. A new AF illuminator further improves autofocus performance in low-light conditions and also serves as a self-timer indicator. Together, these enhancements give users a faster, more responsive focusing system for capturing brilliance at every moment.

The X2D II 100C is the first medium format camera to support true end-to-end HDR[1]. HNCS HDR harnesses high dynamic range to elevate Hasselblad’s signature natural colours to new levels of brilliance. Even in harsh lighting, it effectively reduces overexposure, enhances highlight retention, and reveals greater tonal depth, resulting in richly detailed HDR images that reflect what the eyes naturally see. HDR images are processed in-camera as HDR HEIF or Ultra HDR JPEG and can be instantly reviewed on the new 3,6-inch OLED touchscreen at up to 1 400-nit peak brightness — 75 percent brighter than the X2D 100C — delivering vivid, true-to-life clarity. With Phocus Mobile 2, users can edit HDR images and apply HNCS HDR processing to RAW files. When shared on HDR-capable platforms, these images showcase the full brilliance of HNCS HDR, revealing colours and tones with unprecedented fidelity.

The X2D II 100C’s enhanced 100-megapixel medium format BSI CMOS sensor embodies Hasselblad’s commitment to uncompromising image quality. With 16-bit colour depth delivering approximately 281 trillion colours, it captures the subtle gradations that bring a photograph to life. A new native ISO of 50 and an increased dynamic range of 15,3 stops provide precise control from the deepest shadows to the brightest highlights.

The sensor’s extraordinary resolution demands equally extraordinary stabilisation. To achieve this, Hasselblad engineers followed the most stringent calibration protocols, resulting in a 5-axis, 10-stop in-body stabilisation system that delivers up to eight times the stability of the X2D 100C when capturing distant subjects. Users can now capture hand-held long exposures lasting several seconds without a tripod, unlocking new creative possibilities.

With Phocus Mobile 2, the Hasselblad workflow achieves a new level of portability, allowing users to edit on the go while staying fully immersed in their creative process. Available on iOS devices[3], the app seamlessly connects to Hasselblad X and V system cameras[4] for wireless image transfer, and also allows for remote control with a live view, firmware updates, and even waking the camera when powered off. It offers a range of editing tools, including HDR image editing and Hasselblad Natural Noise Reduction (HNNR), an AI-powered feature that reduces noise in RAW files without affecting details or Hasselblad’s signature colours.

The X2D II 100C retains the remarkable storage capabilities of its predecessor, featuring 1TB of internal SSD storage directly on the camera. With an added CFexpress Type B slot, users can shoot with confidence, free from concerns about storage limitations or the need for additional memory cards..

Designed to be even more compact, the X2D II 100C weighs 7,5 percent less than the X2D 100C for improved handling comfort. Crafted through an advanced finishing process, the new graphite grey matte coating offers exceptional durability and a refined, subtle texture, while the black nameplate adds a touch of distinction. The signature ergonomic grip has also been redesigned with a textured surface to enhance comfort and control during extended shoots.

The 3,6-inch OLED screen tilts 90° upward and around 43° downward, and pulls out while staying clear of the electronic viewfinder (EVF), making it easier to compose and capture shots from high and low angles. A newly added 5D joystick enables swift focus point selection and intuitive menu navigation without touching the screen. With eight customisable buttons, the camera offers greater flexibility and a more personalised control experience.

XCD 2,8–4/35–100E: A COMPACT STANDARD ZOOM LENS WITH FLAGSHIP PERFORMANCE

The new XCD 2,8–4/35–100E is a versatile standard zoom lens that seamlessly bridges wide-angle to medium telephoto focal lengths. With approximately 3× optical zoom, it delivers a 28–76 mm full-frame equivalent focal length and an aperture range of f/2,8 to f/4. Effectively combining the range of seven Hasselblad prime lenses into one, it excels in capturing sweeping landscapes, intimate portraits, dynamic street photography, and spontaneous travel moments with confidence.

At its widest aperture of f/2,8, the lens delivers exceptional low light performance, while producing smooth, creamy bokeh and distinct background separation.

The “E” in XCD 2,8–4/35–100E stands for “Exclusive” and represents the top-tier optical performance, delivering the same edge-to-edge image quality as Hasselblad’s XCD prime lenses. Its advanced optical design comprises 16 elements in 13 groups, including three aspherical and five ED elements, ensuring sharp resolution and authentic colour that meet .the demands of a 100-megapixel senso.

The XCD 2,8–4/35–100E is powered by the fastest stepping motor in the XCD lens lineup. This compact internal focusing group, paired with optimised control algorithms, enables smooth and accurate autofocus. When paired with the X2D II 100C’s AF-C system, it confidently tracks moving subjects and ensures precise focus in action shots.

The integrated leaf shutter offers full flash synchronisation from 1/4000 second to 68 minutes, allowing photographers to balance fill flash in bright light or shoot wide open without compromise.

Despite its bright aperture and extended zoom range, the lens remains remarkably compact, measuring just 138 mm in length and weighing just 894 grams. It features the highly praised control rings from XCD V Series lenses, allowing quick adjustments to shutter speed, aperture, ISO, exposure compensation, and subject switching. The engraved “H” logos and subtle “V” insignia on the control rings reflect Hasselblad’s commitment to minimalist design and enduring quality, creating a lens that performs as elegantly as it appears.

With a 25cm minimum focusing distance and 1:5:8 magnification, its large aperture accentuates close ups, enhancing the expressiveness of subjects like gourmet dishes and flowers.

As part of the Hasselblad XCD V lens series, the design of the XCD 2,5/25V is known for integrating user-friendly functionality with elegance, in both its aesthetics and control. Enhancing the elegance is an engraved “V” insignia on the lens, with the “H” logo engraved on both the focus and control rings.

With a gentle push- pull of the focus ring, photographers can quickly switch between AF and MF modes. ‌In MF mode, intuitive scale marks on the lens keep focus distance and depth of field at a clear glance, enabling precise focus control. Functions such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and exposure compensation can be customised on the control ring, serving as an extension of the camera, allowing users to capture the perfect moment with ease.

The XCD 2,5/25V is equipped with a linear stepping motor and a smaller, lighter focusing lens group, providing a quick and responsive focusing experience when paired with Hasselblad X or V system cameras that support PDAF.

After the groundbreaking success of the X1D-50c and its second iteration, the X1D II 50C, Hasselblad unveils the powerful X2D 100C, along with three new lenses to the XCD family, the XCD 2,5/38V, XCD 2,5/55V, and the XCD 2,5/90V, providing the ultimate experience for content creators.

Hasselblad X2D 100C – Inspiration in Every Detail

Hasselblad’s next-generation mirrorless medium format digital camera, the X2D 100C, has been engineered to bring substantial technological enhancements to image quality, camera handling, and system responsiveness. Designed in a new dark grey tone body of machined aluminium, the X2D 100C houses a 100-megapixel back-side illuminated (BSI) (43.8 × 32.9 mm) CMOS sensor, delivering up to 15 stops of dynamic range with a 16-bit colour depth. The X2D 100C enables a creative experience unimaginable in the past. It empowers content creators to capture the intricacies of an image’s highlights and shadows, utilising the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS). Working alongside the new 5-axis, 7-stop in-body image stabilisation system (IBIS), handheld image capture is possible in the widest range of conditions. Hasselblad independently developed its own IBIS for the X2D 100C in order to meet the stringent requirements for stabilising a 100MP sensor. Keeping size and weight in mind for easy portability, the X2D 100C is the most compact medium format IBIS solution on the market.

With 294 Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) zones, the system ensures the subject is rapidly located and brought into focus. The X2D 100C captures files in 3FR RAW and full-size JPEG, and the cutting-edge, built-in 1TB SSD storage and CFexpress Type B card support delivers a high capture rate for fast-moving subjects.

The X2D 100C features an 0.5-inch OLED Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) with 5.76-million dots, a high magnification of 1.00x with a refresh rate of 60fps, which supports electric refractive error correction to ensure the whole display is sharp and bright, from corner to corner.2 A 1.08-inch colour top display and a 2.36MP, 3.6-inch tilting, touch-capable rear display delivers access to all of these new imaging technologies whilst keeping the intuitive Hasselblad User Interface (HUI) and Scandinavian style of the X System. The battery has a CIPA rating of 420 shots and supports PD 3.0 fast charging.3 Additionally, the X2D 100C is compatible with Phocus, Hasselblad’s free image processing software.

“When developing the X2D 100C, our goal was the same as always, just as Victor Hasselblad himself made decades ago: build a better camera,” said Bronius Rudnickas, Hasselblad Marketing Manager. “This commitment drives us to explore the possibility to improve its performance from all aspects.”

Faster, more compact lenses enhance the X System lens lineup

The XCD lens range now expands to 13 lenses in total with the launch of the XCD 2,5/38V, XCD 2,5/55V, and XCD 2,5/90V. Each new lens has been designed with a compact, lightweight build, all while maintaining Hasselblad’s top-class optical performance. The fully upgraded focusing module, with its stepping motor, enables faster and more accurate autofocus, and the optimized leaf shutter is more compact, providing flash sync at all speeds.

Each of these new XCD lenses have a full-metal body with an engraved distance scale and an H logo engraved on both the focus ring and the lens control ring, delivering unique aesthetics. Photographers can now conveniently switch to Full-time MF using the lens by simply pulling and pushing the focus ring to change between AF and MF, and check focus and DOF readings in MF mode. Additionally, the new lens control ring supports function customization, and photographers can now change what to control with the ring according to their preferences to make shooting more intuitive and efficient. While the XCD 38V, XCD 55V, and XCD 90V lenses are compatible with any X System camera, they perform to their full potential when used with the X2D 100C.

The XCD 38V is ideal for shooting documentary, street, and landscape photography. The XCD 55V is suitable for full or half-length portraits, as well as for shooting documentary, still life, and daily photography, providing image makers more options for their preferred photography genre. The XCD 90V is a moderate telephoto lens, perfect for close-up portraits and still life imagery, and is 11% lighter than the XCD 90.

Per Nordlund, Hasselblad Lead Optical Designer commented, “The ambitious development goals we set for these lenses proved to be quite the challenge. We looked toward faster focusing, better operational features, and the highest possible optical performance in a more compact shape. The end result has been well worth the effort – everything falls into place, making the user experience straightforward and natural.”

Hasselblad proudly launches the 907X Anniversary Edition Kit, comprised of a CFV II 50C digital back, 907X camera body, control grip, optical viewfinder, and XCD 3,5/30 Lens. This edition, limited to just 800 kits, commemorates 80 years since the launch of Hasselblad’s first camera, the HK-7, in 1941.

Since its inception, Hasselblad cameras have been trusted by photographers, capturing countless iconic moments and touching stories, including documenting the historical moment of the first humans on the Moon. Over the past eight decades, Hasselblad has continuously pushed the boundaries on medium format and imaging technology with cutting-edge developments and unique photography styles, providing endless inspiration to creators that pursue excellence.

In the 1950s, Hasselblad created its first wide-angle camera series, the Super Wide Camera. At the time, correcting optical aberration and distortion from wide-angle lenses was a challenge, as the aspherical lenses we know today were not yet available. The SWC, however, broke the mould. Instead of using a mirror, it utilized a rangefinder design which allowed the rear element to be placed closer to the focal plane, effectively reducing aberration and distortion. These developments produced clear, uncompromised images, as well as allowed for a significantly slimmer camera body. Decades later, the SWC camera continues to be known for its outstanding design and superb image quality.

The 30mm wide-angle lens in the Hasselblad 907X Anniversary Edition Kit was thoughtfully selected to echo the Biogon 38mm wide-angle lens used in the SWC. The 907X Anniversary Edition lens has a brand-new lens design and features a delicately etched focus ring in a Hasselblad logo print. The camera and grip in the kit are covered by black grain leatherette and highlighted with anodized Lunar Grey trim. The combination is also consistent with the colours of the SWC. Additionally, one side of the camera features a commemorative plate that reads “Since 1941,” while “Hasselblad” in handwritten lettering marks both the camera body and the optical viewfinder.

The 907X also reinvigorates the heritage of the SWC camera by adding modern flourishes. In addition to live view and autofocus, the 907X camera body is fully compatible with HC/HCD, V, and XPan Lens Adapters, enriching image capture possibilities with the CFV II 50C digital back. This digital back also blends seamlessly with a film camera body, coupling analogue and digital technologies.

The CFV II 50C digital back has a touch and tilt rear display that enables effortless waist-level shooting. Attach the back to any V System camera, then tilt the screen to a suitable angle or use a waist-level viewfinder for easy image composition, focusing, and review.

Main features of the Hasselblad 907X Anniversary Edition Kit include:

• Large medium format 50MP 43.8 x 32.9mm CMOS sensor
• Up to 14 stops of dynamic range
• 16-bit colour definition
• Integral central lens shutter (speed from 1/2000th of a second to 68 minutes)
• Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS)
• 3.2-inch TFT rear display, 2.36M dots, tilts up to 90 degrees for waist-level shooting, supports 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz wireless connection
• USB-C port for charging, up to 5Gbps transmission rate
• Dual UHS-II SD card slots
• Hasselblad User Interface (HUI), easy to use and intuitive
• Compatible with Phocus Mobile 2 for tethered capture, image editing, importing and exporting photos, and firmware updates

The XH Converter 0,8 brings new opportunities to Hasselblad photographers with the ability to unlock a whole new set of H System lens capabilities. The XH Converter 0,8, used on HC/HCD lenses attached to an X System or 907X camera, reduces the focal length of the lens by a factor of 0,8x, which delivers a wider field of view and improves the maximum aperture of the lens by two-thirds of a stop. Additionally, the XH Converter 0,8 improves lens performance in terms of contrast and apparent sharpness across the entire frame.

An impressive combination for maximizing aperture is achieved when attaching the XH Converter 0,8 to the HC f/2,2 100mm lens, transforming the aperture and focal length to f/1,8 and 80mm, respectively. This creates an extremely fast aperture that proves quicker than the XCD f/1,9 80mm lens, which until now has been the highest aperture lens option for X and 907X camera systems. An example of reducing focal length with the XH Converter 0,8 is when combined with the HCD f/4,8 24mm lens, it creates an aperture of f/3,8 with a 19mm focal length. This results in an even wider lens option than the existing XCD 21 lens, the widest lens in the X System.

The XH Converter 0,8 joins a range of Hasselblad adapters and converters, including the XH Lens Adapter which allows the usage of all 12 H System lenses as they are on X and 907X camera systems. The addition of the XH Converter 0,8 to the existing accessories lineup now provides these systems with enhanced functionality for H Lenses. In addition, H System users who decide to branch into the X or 907X systems gain more versatility from their current HC/HCD Lens options.

All H System lenses with firmware 18.0.0 or later must be updated to the newest version 19.1.0 to work with the XH Converter 0,8 and to get auto focus (HC 120 and HC 120 II can only be used in manual focus mode). Other H System lenses (except HC 120 and HC 120 II) with firmware older than 18.0.0 will work but only in manual focus mode. Please note that only HC/HCD lenses with firmware 18.0.0 or later can be updated to 19.1.0. Lenses with older firmware have older hardware and therefore cannot be updated. Additionally, the X1D-50c must be updated with firmware 1.25.0 or later and the X1D II 50C, 907X 50C and 907X Special Edition cameras must all be updated with firmware 1.4.0 or later.

The reaches of Hasselblad cameras now go further and deeper with its collaboration with AquaTech in their new REFLEX Water Housing. The upgraded build culminates 20 years of design and field testing and is the first in a new series. Weighing 1.6kg (3.52 lbs) and waterproof down to 10 meters (33ft), the highly portable REFLEX X1D II 50C allows for taking the power of medium format underwater for a whole new wave of creative expression.

“This exciting collaboration with AquaTech takes our most portable medium format camera even further, giving our innovative X1D II platform more creative freedom thanks to REFLEX for the X System,” says Hasselblad Marketing Manager Bronius Rudnickas.

REFLEX X1D II 50C

As the first official underwater solution for Hasselblad’s X System, the REFLEX X1D II 50C allows for shooting with the entire XCD lens range. Balancing maximum strength and minimal weight, the glass-filled polycarbonate construction combines controls made from 316 stainless steel, hard anodised aluminium and high strength plastics for a superior tactile feel and easy control while simultaneously ensuring extreme protection against saltwater and corrosion. Facilitating simple handling when shooting stills or capturing video under water, the two electronic shutter buttons on the REFLEX X1D II 50C also enable easy capture whether shooting in landscape or portrait orientation. Navigating other settings and menu parameters can be done via the camera’s back buttons.

“We are very pleased to release the REFLEX Water Housing for the Hasselblad X1D II 50C. We’re proud to be able to open new creative opportunities for X1D II users, and we are excited to see some of the high-quality work that will be achieved with this collaboration between AquaTech and Hasselblad,” says Managing Director of AquaTech Alan Love.

The REFLEX X1D II 50C dimensions measure at W 210mm (8.26“) by L 135mm (5.31“) by H 190mm (7.48“).
