Pocketable, Lightweight, with TTL, High-Speed Sync, and a Circular Color Touchscreen Interface

Viltrox today announced the launch of its Vintage Z1 Pro, a retro-inspired compact flash. Embracing the signature vintage styling of the original Vintage Z1, the new Z1 Pro introduces TTL automatic flash metering and High-Speed Sync (HSS) functionality, delivering enhanced performance and creative flexibility in a highly portable form factor.

The Vintage Z1 Pro is designed as an accessible solution for beginners while also supporting more advanced creative applications, including street photography, portraiture, travel, and everyday content creation.

TTL Automatic Flash Metering and New High-Speed Sync

The Vintage Z1 Pro is the first in the series to include High-Speed Sync (HSS) functionality up to 1/8000s, enabling photographers to shoot in bright daylight with wider apertures and capture fast-moving subjects in natural ambient conditions.

TTL flash metering automatically adjusts flash output based on ambient lighting conditions. The Vintage Z1 Pro supports two optical trigger modes: S1 mode, which triggers simultaneously when another flash burst is detected, and S2 mode, which ignores TTL pre-flashes and triggers on the primary flash burst, enabling flexible multi-light arrangements and off-camera flash setups.

Intuitive Circular Color Touchscreen

The Vintage Z1 Pro features a newly integrated circular color touchscreen UI designed to simplify workflows. The display provides clear access to flash output levels, shooting modes, battery status, and sync settings, while touch-based controls enable faster and more intuitive adjustments compared to traditional button-operated interfaces.

High-Speed, High-Performance Flash

The Vintage Z1 Pro delivers 24Ws flash output with a 1-second recycle time. The high-capacity battery supports up to 350 full-power flashes per charge, helping creators maintain a smooth shooting rhythm. Integrated USB-C charging allows the flash to fit conveniently into modern loadouts, with a full recharge taking just 70 minutes.

Broad Camera Compatibility

The Vintage Z1 Pro supports Sony, Nikon, Canon, and Fujifilm camera systems (hot shoe versions) across a wide range of mainstream cameras.

The Diversity of Style in Viltrox’s Flash Series

With the launch of the Vintage Z1 Pro, Viltrox continues to expand its flash lineup, offering creators a broader range of lighting solutions across different shooting styles, creative preferences, and performance needs.

From the retro-inspired Vintage Series, including the Vintage Z1 and Z2, to the cyberpunk-styled Spark Series represented by the Spark Z3, the Viltrox flash lineup is designed to provide flexible and accessible lighting tools for photographers and content creators across a wide range of creative scenarios.

Canon has officially introduced the new Lens Dust Cap RF II, a redesigned rear lens cap for its RF mount system, bringing a simple but practical upgrade for Canon mirrorless users.

The updated accessory replaces the original RF rear lens cap, which could only be attached in a single orientation. The new RF II version introduces a redesigned locking mechanism that allows the cap to be mounted in multiple positions, making it quicker and more intuitive to use when swapping lenses in fast-paced shooting situations.

While a small update on paper, the change directly addresses a long-running frustration among Canon RF users, particularly photographers and filmmakers working in dynamic environments where speed and convenience matter.

According to Canon’s official announcement, the redesign is part of ongoing refinements to the RF ecosystem, with a focus on improving everyday usability across its lens and accessory lineup. The new cap is expected to gradually replace the existing design as new RF lenses ship and stock is updated across retail channels.

Availability will vary by region, with rollout expected through Canon’s official stores and authorised dealers.

The Lens Dust Cap RF II was first revealed via Canon’s official corporate newsroom in Japan, with global availability expected to follow in line with Canon’s standard regional release schedule for accessories.

Key details: Canon Lens Dust Cap RF II

Redesigned RF rear lens cap for Canon mirrorless RF mount

Multi-orientation attachment (improved from original single-position design)

Improved usability for faster lens changes

Rolling replacement across RF lens shipments

Availability varies by region

Why it matters

The first full-frame autofocus zoom developed by a Chinese optical brand, in a constant f/2.8 internal-zoom design

Thypoch proudly announces the Thypoch today announced the Voyager 24-50mm f/2.8, the first full-frame autofocus zoom developed by a Chinese optical brand and Thypoch’s first AF lens. Built for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, the Voyager uses an internal zoom mechanism that holds physical length fixed across the focal range, with a constant f/2.8 aperture from 24mm through 50mm.

Three Primes in One Lens

A photographer working with primes typically carries 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm. Those three focal lengths cover the working distances that define documentary, reportage, environmental portrait, street, and event photography. The 24mm captures a full scene when there isn’t room to step back. The 35mm sees roughly the way the eye sees, which is why it remains the working perspective of reportage and documentary photography. The 50mm isolates a subject without flattening the space around it.

The 24-50mm range was chosen as a balance of size, design, and price point. It covers the focal lengths working photographers reach for daily. The Voyager fits an internal zoom mechanism, holds f/2.8 across the range, and stays compact enough to live on the camera all day.

The Voyager is designed to deliver image quality comparable to a dedicated prime across the zoom range, whether the working perspective is the breadth of 24mm, the reportage view of 35mm, or the subject isolation of 50mm. The result is one lens that does the work of three primes, in the size and weight of one.

Fixed Length, Constant Aperture

A fixed-length zoom that holds f/2.8 across the range removes two of the most common interruptions in fast-paced shooting: rebalancing a gimbal between focal lengths, and recalculating exposure as the aperture shifts.

The Voyager’s internal zoom mechanism keeps the barrel length constant from 24mm to 50mm. The center of gravity stays in place during a take. The fixed barrel is also more mechanically stable in the hand than an extending zoom, which translates to a steadier grip during handheld work.

The f/2.8 maximum aperture is held throughout the zoom range. From dim interiors and twilight streets to backlit portraits, f/2.8 delivers the brightness and subject separation that working photographers need when light is scarce. Exposure stays consistent across focal lengths. The lens stays out of the way of the shot.

The fixed barrel also eliminates lens creep when the camera is stowed, and removes the extending external moving parts that complicate weather sealing on conventional zooms.

A First for Chinese Optical Engineering

The Voyager is the first full-frame autofocus zoom developed by a Chinese optical brand. Combining autofocus, full-frame image coverage, and zoom architecture in a single lens requires coordinated development across optical design, mechanical engineering, AF systems, and electronics.

The Voyager’s autofocus system is designed for fast and quiet operation. Thypoch built the AF unit to stay out of the way of the shot, with response speed intended to keep pace with documentary, street, and event shooting, and quiet operation suited to video work and sound-sensitive environments. The lens features native Sony E-mount autofocus, with support for eye AF, AF-C tracking, and in-camera and lens-side AF/MF switching.

The lens has been tested with current-generation Sony Alpha bodies including the ZV-E1, A7C2, A7CR, A7IV, A7V, A7RIV, A7RV, A7SIII, A9III, and FX3.

Built for Bokeh

Rendering character is where Thypoch has built its reputation, and the Voyager carries that priority into autofocus. The optical design uses 16 elements in 13 groups, including 2 ASPH (aspherical) elements, 3 ED (extra-low dispersion) elements, and 3 HRI (high refractive index) elements. The formula is designed to control aberrations across the frame at all focal lengths.

The 10-blade rounded aperture holds its circular shape across most of the working aperture range, producing rounded out-of-focus highlights at mid apertures and sunstar rendering at smaller apertures.

Optical, Not Digital

The Voyager’s out-of-focus rendering is built into the glass, not added in software. Optical bokeh behaves naturally at the edges of the frame, around specular highlights, and in the transition zones that digital blur tends to flatten. The result is depth that holds up at full resolution and on close inspection.

The transition from sharp focus to background blur happens gradually, the way a lens with character renders rather than the way a lens that’s merely sharp does. Subjects sit forward in the frame with weight and presence, separated from the background without the harsh cutoff that flattens an image.

Sealed at Every Joint

Weather sealing is the difference between a lens that works in the conditions a photographer actually shoots in and a lens that has to be protected from them. The Voyager is built with sealed construction at the lens mount, focus ring, zoom ring, and front element. The internal zoom design contributes to sealing integrity by removing the extending external barrel that creates the most common point of moisture ingress on conventional zooms.

The lens is developed for dust and moisture resistance. Whether the shooting environment is coastal mist or a sudden urban downpour, the Voyager is built to keep working. Paired with Sony’s own weather-sealed Alpha bodies, the lens completes a sealed shooting system rather than introducing a weak point in it.

Cinema Zoom Heritage

The Voyager is Thypoch’s first autofocus lens. Its zoom architecture draws on the parent group’s experience in cinema zoom lens engineering, which includes constant-aperture and internal-zoom designs across multiple cine lens families. Cinema zooms are the discipline in which constant aperture and fixed barrel length were first solved as engineering problems. The Voyager applies that discipline to a stills-format AF lens.

Sony today introduces the Alpha 7R VI, the sixth generation of its celebrated Alpha 7R series. Built on the series’ legacy of leading resolution, this full-frame mirrorless camera pairs an approximately 66.8 effective megapixel back-illuminated fully-stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with the new BIONZ XR2 engine.
Panasonic is proud to introduce the LUMIX L10 (DC‑L10), a new fixed lens camera created for photographers who value intuitive control, refined design, and exceptional image quality. Developed in Osaka, Japan, the LUMIX L10 embodies Panasonic’s belief that a camera should feel instinctive in the hand, allowing the user to focus entirely on the subject and bringing any creative vision to life.

Celebrating 25 Years of LUMIX

To mark the 25th anniversary of LUMIX, the LUMIX L10 will be available in three color variations: Black, Silver, and a commemorative Titanium Gold Special Edition. This milestone special edition celebrates LUMIX’s heritage and design vision. Inspired by the LUMIX’s philosophy of “Shaping Emotions”- (Mushin), the LUMIX L10 brings together trusted craftsmanship, timeless aesthetics, and advanced imaging technology in a compact body. A signature saffiano leather-textured finish defines the camera’s look, complemented by a high-quality metal exterior and magnesium alloy front case, offering a contemporary and enduring design.

The Titanium Gold Special Edition LUMIX L10 also comes with several exclusive features, including a refined menu interface adopting a Titanium Gold theme to create visual harmony with the exterior, subtly placed rear branding that remains visible only to its owner and support for commercially available screw-in shutter buttons for personal customization. A selection of dedicated accessories are also unique to the Titanium Gold kit, these are additional auto lens cap, shoulder strap, and lens cloth. The Titanium Gold Edition will be available through limited sales channels, primarily via the official Panasonic Store with availability varying by region.

Weighing approximately 508g / 1.12 lb, the LUMIX L10 is built to carry all day, with an intuitive layout for one‑handed operation. It’s tactile controls and balanced design creates a seamless shooting experience, enabling photographers to capture moments freely, without distraction, particularly suited for street, travel and everyday photography.

Premium optics and Imaging Performance

The LUMIX L10 features a LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX 24-75mm lens with an F1.7–2.8 aperture, combining expressive depth, beautiful bokeh, and versatile performance. A precision-machined metal barrel and manual aperture ring enhance tactile control, while AF macro shooting from as close as 3 cm at the wide end broadens creative possibilities. Whether capturing sweeping landscapes, intimate portraits, or documentary work, the lens delivers delicate gradations of light and shadow with better clarity.

With a 20.4MP resolution, it delivers rich texture, natural color, and refined tonal gradation. The 4/3 type back-illuminated (BSI) CMOS image sensor and latest image processing engine deliver higher image quality. Dynamic Range Boost further enhances tonal richness, delivering expanded shadow detail in still photography.

Another stand out feature is that the L10 also incorporates a multi-aspect shooting capability. By utilizing a sensor larger than the lens image circle, it maintains a consistent angle of view across 4:3, 3:2, and 16:9 aspect ratios, providing greater compositional flexibility without altering framing.

Creative Color and Workflow Integration

Guided by Panasonic’s picture‑making philosophy of “Capturing It All,” LUMIX color science is designed to deliver realistic reproduction, creating images that feel natural, rich, and emotionally engaging. In addition to LUMIX’s signature Photo Styles, the LUMIX L10 introduces new film-inspired looks, including L.Classic, with soft tones and muted colors for a gentle, delicate atmosphere, and L.ClassicGold, featuring warm amber highlights and nostalgic contrasts.

With REAL TIME LUT, users can load custom LUTs directly into the camera and preview the final look while shooting. Up to two LUTs can be layered for added creative flexibility. Using the LUMIX Lab app, users can further expand their options by generating LUTs from their favorite images with Magic LUT, powered by AI-based color analysis

To support capturing those decisive moments, the LUMIX L10 features Phase Hybrid AF with 779 focus points, advanced AI-based eye, face, and subject recognition (including Urban Sports), high-speed continuous shooting at up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter, and reliable optical image stabilization for stable handheld capture.

A 2.36-million-dot OLED viewfinder and a 1.84-million-dot free-angle monitor, both supporting a vertically optimized UI, provide flexible framing for modern shooting styles. The LUMIX L10 supports both still and short-form video workflows, including MP4 (Lite) for quick social sharing, along with high-speed transfer and editing via the LUMIX Lab app.

Built for Everyday Creativity

The LUMIX L10 combines refined design with advanced imaging to support creativity confidently and beautifully, allowing photographers to focus on the moments and emotions before them. Panasonic will continue to empower creators and expand the possibilities of visual expression for further years ahead.

Shimoda Design, the Adventure Photography brand, announces the launch of the new Urban Explore Waist Belt, designed to deliver enhanced comfort, stability, and load distribution for creators on the move.

Developed as an accessory to complement the Urban Explore backpack series, the Waist Belt has been engineered to transfer weight from the shoulders to the hips, reducing fatigue during longer shoots or commutes. Whether navigating city streets or carrying heavier loads on extended days, the belt provides additional support where it matters most.

Constructed using CORDURA re/cor™ fabric, the belt not only delivers durability and performance, but also aligns with Shimoda’s commitment to sustainable materials. The lightly padded design ensures all-day comfort, while dual-adjust slip-locks allow users to fine-tune the fit quickly and precisely.

Creators benefit from increased versatility thanks to compatibility with Shimoda Top Loader bags. The belt can be integrated to create a hip pack or sling-style configuration, offering flexibility for those who prefer a lighter, more agile carry setup.

Giles House, Product Marketing Manager, Shimoda Design, commented, “The Urban Explore Waist Belt is a natural extension of the Urban Explore system. It’s designed for creators who need greater comfort and support when carrying heavier gear, while maintaining the clean, functional design Shimoda is known for.”

With an adjustable range designed to fit a wide variety of users, the belt incorporates Shimoda’s inward-pull dual-adjust system. This design eliminates pressure points and delivers a more refined, ergonomic fit compared to traditional centre-adjust belts.
